An array of activities for your winter holidays in the Alps

However beautiful the pistes in Sölden can be, it would be a shame not to take advantage of all the leisure options that await you on the doorstep of our hotel in Austria! Here are a few interesting alternatives to enrich your winter holidays in the Alps.

Winter hiking & snowshoeing

Enjoy Sölden from a different perspective – that of the magical, snow-coated landscapes crossed by a network of maintained and signposted hiking paths stretching for over 30 km, and dotted by rustic huts where you can warm up and enjoy a tasty snack and a jaw-dropping view.

If you had rather trudge through the snowscapes the way ancient mountain farmers did, you can wear a pair of snowshoes and set off to discover our winter wonderland – either on your own or joining a guided snowshoe tour. You will not have to go the same way twice, as the choice of routes is practically endless.

Cross-country skiing

Every year, throngs of cross-country fans choose Sölden to spend their winter holidays in the Alps, which is not surprising if you consider that Sölden offers 186 km of XC trails groomed to perfection. The perfect place to give full rein to your cross-country passion! The trail network encompasses 117 km tracked for classic technique and 69 km for skating, of which 12 km are rated difficult, 94 km medium and 80 km easy.

Optimal bus service is also available to reach the heart of Ötztal's trail network, which you can use free of charge carrying your cross-country equipment, thanks to your guest card. Access to the trails is also free of charge.

Sledding in Sölden

The 5 km-long, floodlit sled run in Sölden guarantees fun and action for the whole family. Warning: The sled run from the Gaislachalm in Silbertal crosses the ski run in one point, and is also used by cars and taxis during the day. The last 300 metres of the run are not lit.

Ice skating in Sölden

Ice skating is one of the most popular winter sports of all. In Sölden, you will find a new ice rink where you can spend leisurely or romantic hours, whatever your age. If you do not feel like adding weight to your luggage when you pack for your winter holidays in the Alps, you can hire the ice skates directly on site.

Paragliding in Sölden

Discover the fabulous winter world of Sölden from a bird's-eye perspective! A tandem flight from the Giggijoch to Sölden will blow your mind with a unique sense of boundless freedom. Trained, certified pilots make it safe and easy to let the dream of flying come true.
