The Haflinger horse is known for its friendly character, its equilibrium and its special sure-footedness - characteristics that make it the ideal companion in the mountains. At over 1,300 metres above sea level, the horses of the Liebe Sonne Haflinger breeding farm stand in their paddocks in the middle of Sölden. Hotelier Michael Gurschler has been passionately dedicated to breeding these blonde horses with the golden heart since 1995.

In the heart of Sölden

The breeding programme now comprises eleven Haflinger horses from Tyrolean lines, which are carefully looked after and kept in a species-appropriate manner. Bernhard is responsible for the farm, supported by the grooms Jasmin, Simone and Lisa, who take care of feeding, grooming, stabling and equipment on a daily basis.

In the summer months, guests of all ages can look forward to special encounters with our Haflingers - authentic, close to nature and personal.

The Liebe Sonne Haflinger breeding centre offers everything from visits to the stables - where you are welcome to help out yourself - to riding lessons on the lunge and rides for experienced riders.

Particularly popular are our guided hikes with horse accompaniment, where the horses can be ridden alternately. This way you can combine nature experience, exercise and the special closeness to these impressive animals.
