A look at the history of the house
Once upon a time... a hotel in Sölden
Everything starts small. Almost everything - because at the HOTEL LIEBE SONNE in Sölden, people liked to think big right from the start. Back in 1920, Caroline and Michael Gurschler's grandfather acquired the former hotel in the centre of Sölden, laying the foundations for the family history. Over the decades, the hotel was run with great passion and constantly developed until the Gurschler family took a decisive step in 1994: the hotel was rebuilt according to their own ideas and given its current name - Hotel Liebe Sonne.
From the very beginning, the hotel was planned as a place where love and sunshine are at home. This idea still characterises the light-flooded hotel today. However, the history goes back even further: the "Zur Sonne" inn is considered to be the first inn in the village mentioned by Johann Jakob Staffler and is already mentioned in the regional description of Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
Since the early 1990s, the hotel has been continuously remodelled and expanded to meet the growing demands of guests. Today, not only the HOTEL LIEBE SONNE is owned by the Gurschler family, but also three restaurants in the immediate vicinity: the umbrella bar directly in front of the hotel, the Almrausch pub for enjoyable hours and the legendary Fire & Ice club in the centre of Sölden, which welcomes night owls until the early hours of the morning.
